I use this ball mainly on house shots, and think it will fit in a lot of players arsenals! Give it a shot! Compared to the original Zen, I think this ball is slightly weaker but sharper off the backend. That means it doesn’t hook in the early part of the lane. However, with the chance in the coverstock, this ball is extremely clean. As the original Zen wasn’t the cleanest through the fronts, I was thinking the Gold Label would still have some of that characteristic. The Zen Gold Label was a bit of a surprise for me. The Zen Gold Label is the cleanest and most responsive Zen to date as per SPI. It is definitely one of my favorite balls in my arsenal and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high performance pearl ball that can handle some oil. The Zen Gold Label is a versatile and reliable ball that can handle a variety of lane patterns and transitions. The ball also hits hard and carries well, especially on the light hits. The ball reacts well to different hand positions and release angles, allowing me to open up the lane and create more entry angle to the pocket. It has a great combination of length and hook potential, thanks to the Reserve Blend 801 Pearl coverstock and the Meditate symmetric core. I did not like the reacta-gloss finish, so it is at 4000 Abralon no polish. Smoother and less rolly to my eyes than the OG Zen. This ball is smooth through the front part of the lane, angular on the backend and dominate on medium conditions. I have been bowling with the 900 Global Zen Gold Label for a few months now and I am very impressed with its performance. If you drilled an original Zen and liked it, or if you need a symmetrical piece that will fly through the front and create a fast response time down-lane, go drill yourself a 900 Global Zen Gold Label! I’ve had the most success once patterns break down and stretch, while still needing something to read the body of the lane. It’s been a perfect compliment to my original Zen, the Xponent, and Eternity. As lane surfaces get older and as bowling centers put out less volume, the Gold Label is a perfect ball to drill for some of those drier conditions. The Gold Label has stayed extremely shiny but I know when I go to it, I’m going to need to stand left and expect a lot of angle in front of the pins. From a surface standpoint, I’ve left the surface alone and let some oil get in the coverstock. This puts the pin above my bridge with a decent sized shift of the CG toward my PAP. I’ve drilled one so far and think it rolls great. With a black, pearl coverstock and a massive, symmetrical weight block, the Gold Label is perfect for creating length through the front part of the lane, storing energy, and creating an extremely quick response time into the pocket. After drilling the original Zen and having a ton of success with it, seeing a pearl version has created a perfect 1-2 combo in the line. The Zen Gold Label by 900 Global is one of the newest additions to the 800 batch and it’s been impressive so far.
